Children’s Hospitals use a program called BEADS OF COURAGE. When a child has a procedure done such as blood work or major surgery, a bead of color is given to the child telling the staff what procedure the child has gone through.

The age range for Dornbecker and Shriners Hospitals is K to 21 years of age. In the summer of 2012 they will be adding ages even younger from Emmanuel Hospital. Each month we will be making a different color of bead. The beads can be any size, shape and decorated any fashion as long as the main base bead is the color of the month. It will be an on going project.

The children enjoy receiving the beads. What a small reward for such brave children. Please join us and make a child a little braver.
Keep in mind when making the hole in the beads the size needs to accommodate both cording and string.

The current color is RED.
